Dangote foods rewarded over 77 distributors and customers of their product at the 2018 Dangote Customers Celebration and Food Distributors’Award Night for their loyalty and patronage.

The event which took place at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria saw monetary awards given out in cheques to distributors, with an all expensed paid trip to Dubai also awarded by the management of Dangote Foods.

The Chairman of NASCON Allied Industries, a subset of Dangote Foods, Mrs. Yemisi Ayeni, during her welcome speech said that customers were the most important part of their business which gave rise to the theme of the award night: ‘Better, Stronger, Together.’ Explaining that the aim of the event was to express gratitude to their customers for making the products of Dangote Foods a preferred choice for every household.

“Your continuous patronage over the years demonstrates your confidence in our product range; sugar, flour and salt. You have helped to create awareness for Dangote Foods products across the six geopolitical regions. This has led to increased consumption of our products in the regions,”she was quoted to have said.

Chief Executive Officer, Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, during his remarks noted that the event was for customers and distributors who against all odds, had made Dangote Foods products a household name in Nigeria.

He said, “You are all aware that we are celebrating 2018 against all odds. Our Food businesses recorded mixed results in the year with NASCON growing, while Dangote Sugar Refinery and Dangote Flour Mill had a very difficult year.Fluctuations in performance are known to occur in the life of businesses but the greater part is that you persevered with us.”

According to him, the company invested so much in Dangote Sugar, in line with its Backward Integration Project aimed at producing 1.5 million metric tons of refined sugar yearly for the next 10 years, noting that the challenges would end soon, as investments would create job employment, price reductions and massive profits for customers.

Revealing his plans for this year, Dangote said that the company’s huge investment in the Apapa road reconstruction project and on completion in 2019 would bring relief to the companies, as well as other competitors operating from the axis.

One of the beneficiaries of the award, Alhaji AliBalarabe of Balarabe & Sons, who was also the overall best performing customer in the national category for the second consecutive time, expressed gratitude to God for an excellent year, while also expressing gratitude to Dangote Foods for sustaining the cordial relationship between the two companies.
